Blue Gems Swim School is Chicagoland's premier boutique family-owned swimming school focusing on infant, children, and adult learn to swim lessons as well as a variety of progressive aquatic development programs.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience
• Minimum of 2 years of managerial experience
• Passion for working with children and helping them succeed
• Ability to multi-task and organize multiple employees and shifts
• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
• Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures
• Lifeguard and/or Lifeguard Instructor certifications are required (within the first 90 days of hire)
• CPO License (Certified Pool Operator) - certification provided as necessary

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Manage the daily operations of school and facility
• Manage the staff to ensure positive team environment and excellent performance
• On-boarding and training of new and existing staff members
• Responsible for coordinating permanent staff schedule changes as well as staff substitutions for classes
• Approving scheduled payroll hours and managing student skill tracking to ensure proper reporting and progress
• Meeting with Program Managers and dedicated Staff Members to ensure proper class schedule availability, teaching process and procedures as well as program improvements and revisions
• Manage facility maintenance through the vendor list as needed
• Provide the appropriate Daily, Weekly and Monthly reports
• Enforce safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents
• Effectively communicate progress and feedback to students and their parents or guardians, ensure customer satisfaction
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
