Salary Range: $55,000 - $82,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Source, evaluate, and select suppliers for raw materials, components, and services.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to achieve favorable agreements.
• Generate and manage purchase orders, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of materials.
• Monitor and evaluate supplier performance based on quality, delivery, and cost.
• Collaborate with production, planning, and engineering teams to ensure material availability and support production schedules.
• Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities without compromising quality or supply.
• Manage inventory levels for assigned materials to optimize working capital and minimize stockouts.

Recommended Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of direct purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for procurement and inventory management.
• Proven ability to negotiate contracts, manage supplier relationships, and drive cost savings.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and supply chain best practices.
• Analytical skills for market analysis, cost modeling, and strategic sourcing decisions.

Bonus Qualifications

• Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies
• Certification in supply chain management (e.g., APICS CSCP, CPIM)
• Ability to interpret technical drawings or blueprints
• Experience with specific ERP/MRP modules related to procurement (e.g., SAP MM, Oracle Purchasing)
