Consultants pay rate: $30 /hr on W2 (All Inclusive)

Position is hybrid Monday thru Friday, 37.5H week, 7.5H days; 3 days on-site required and 2 days remote. Does candidate accept this requirement?

Cancer Registry Administrator is a full-time contract (permanent, not temporary) position, hybrid work schedule (3 days onsite, 2 days remote) at the state cancer registry.

Full-time contract position, hybrid work schedule (3 days onsite, 2 days remote) at the state cancer registry. Position will report to the Cancer Registry Director. Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Files incoming cancer data reports from healthcare facilities (electronically stores faxed, mailed information).

2. Conducts death clearance follow back (detailed guidance and orientation will be provided, this task starts in April).

3. Conducts data pull for virtually pooled registry requests from the research community or national agencies for approved studies (guidance and orientation will be provided).

4. Updates cancer reporting healthcare facility contact information in software systems SEER*DMS, Web Plus.

5. Participates in developing registry policies and procedures to standardize operations (co-write SOPs under guidance).

Job Requirements:

Proficiency in using computers (Microsoft Enterprise - Word, Excel, Teams) and ability to quickly learn and use new software systems. Bachelor's degree is required. High preference to those certified as an Oncology Data Specialist (formerly Certified Tumor Registrar, CTR) and/or work experience as a cancer registrar. Minimum two years of work experience in roles related to collecting and managing data in health care or health care administration. Ability to compose technically accurate correspondence and reports using correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Ability to work independently. Ability to attend to detail and maintain accuracy and confidentiality. Teamwork skills. Knowledge of HIPAA compliance requirements.

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports: No supervisory responsibilities will be required.

Difficulty of Work: Work involves standardized operations requiring application of pertinent agency policies, laws, and regulations to specific varying cases.

Responsibility: Incumbent works independently.

Personal Work Relationships: This individual will be expected to partner with agency personnel and related stakeholders' working towards completion of assigned functions. Exceptional customer service is provided to agency partners and/or the public.

Physical Effort: Standard office work. This position is full time, 5 days a week, to accumulate no more than 37.5 hours a week (hybrid, 3 days a week from the office and 2 days a week remote).

Working Conditions: Work is performed in a standard office environment.

Bachelor's degree in relevant field (healthcare administration, public health, etc.) Required

Minimum two years of experience in roles related to data collection and management in healthcare or healthcare administration Required 2 Years

Experience in collecting and managing data in healthcare or health administration settings Required 2 Years

Familiarity w/confidentiality & privacy regulations related to healthcare data w/ability to maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information Required

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written with ability to multi-task and work independently Required

Certified as an Oncology Data Specialist (ODS), formerly Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR), or prior experience as a cancer registrar Highly desired 2Years
