Job Title: Cloud Application Architect

Job Location- Austin, Texas- Hybrid

• 8+ years of professional experience in application architecture and software development

• May lead, mentor, and direct the work of technical teams

Job Summary

• Responsible for designing, developing, and implementing enterprise applications
• Leads the application architecture lifecycle from concept through deployment
• Oversees and guides development efforts of associated technical staff
• Architects scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud-native solutions
• Aligns technical architecture with business strategy and long-term goals

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and design of cloud-native enterprise applications
• Direct application development while enforcing best practices for scalability, reliability, and maintainability
• Translate business requirements into robust technical and architectural solutions
• Collaborate with business, product, and engineering stakeholders
• Define and evolve application architectures to meet performance, security, and scalability requirements
• Establish architectural standards, patterns, and governance
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams
• Ensure alignment with modern software development and cloud-native principles

Technical Skills & Qualifications (Required)

• 8+ years of strong experience with Java EE and modern Java frameworks
• Extensive experience with Spring Boot and microservices architectures
• Proven expertise in designing and implementing distributed systems
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud
• Strong experience with containerization and orchestration technologies:
  • Docker, Kubernetes
• Proficiency in API design and integration:
  • REST, GraphQL
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and Infrastructure as Code:
  • Terraform, Ansible
• Strong knowledge of security best practices for cloud-native applications
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases:
  • PostgreSQL, MongoDB
• Hands-on experience with event-driven architectures and messaging systems:
  • Kafka, RabbitMQ
• Exposure to serverless computing and cloud-native services
• Strong experience applying Domain-Driven Design (DDD) to complex business domains
• Deep understanding of design patterns and their real-world application
• Practical experience implementing the 12-Factor App methodology

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with observability and monitoring tools:
  • Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack
• Familiarity with performance tuning and high-availability strategies
• Understanding of cloud cost optimization practices
• Healthcare industry experience
• Strong knowledge of information management principles, IT processes, SDLC, and enterprise architecture
• Consulting and facilitation skills
• Strong customer-focused communication skills across all organizational levels
• Proactive leadership style with strong attention to detail
• Relevant certifications:
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect
  • Azure Solutions Architect Expert
  • Google Professional Cloud Architect
• Experience working with state or government eligibility systems
