Job Description

DCS is seeking a part-time engineering student to support the development of new data processing/management technologies and associated zero trust, big data infrastructure leveraging cloud, containerization, data governance, and data standards initiatives. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work on a team with projects which directly support Department of Defense efforts world-wide.

Essential Job Functions

Support the development of government big data and data governance systems by researching and reporting on topics and technologies in directed areas which may include implementing software proof of concept and demonstrations.

Participate in Scrum Team activities by supporting agile team stand-ups and other sprint activities.

Apply Systems Engineering methodologies to software engineering efforts.

Collaborate with mixed contractor and government teams.

Required Skills

Due to the sensitivity of customer requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Applicants selected will be subject to an U.S. Government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain a DOD security clearance.

High School diploma with STEM or college prep focus.

An Associate’s degree or Junior or Senior level college student and who is currently attending college majoring in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related engineering discipline.

Experience with software development using C/C++, Python, or equivalent programming languages.

Software development using Agile methods with version control software and software development tools such as Jira, Gitlab, or Github.

Understanding of containerization and orchestration using Kubernetes with the desire to apply and increase that knowledge.

Strong interpersonal and customer interaction skills, and the ability to work well in team environments.

Strong attention to detail and process driven to deliver efficient, accurate work products .

Excellent written and verbal English communications skills.
