Village on the Park Friendswood is seeking a Part-time Cook to continue our story of compassionately caring for our residents.
Are you a passionate cook with a flair for creating delicious dishes? Do you have great restaurant experience or a culinary arts degree? If you have a love for food and want to share that gift with others, we want YOU to join our culinary team!
We partner with professional vendors to provide the finest raw materiel and utilize cutting edge menu and food production technology tools, allowing you to create fantastic menu items. We're looking for culinary artistry and passion in every meal!

Shifts:
- 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
- Saturday & Sunday
- Includes holiday shifts on rotation
Responsibilities:
- Prepares or assist in preparation of complete meals - preparing and cooking soups, meats, gravies, vegetables, desserts, salads, baked goods, etc.
- Complies with all special dietary needs or restrictions of residents ensuring everyone enjoys their meals. We provide clear instructions to help you meet the dietary needs of our residents.
- Create gravies, sauces, and menu items from scratch, showcasing our culinary creativity.
- Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are serve, elevating the dining experience.
- Monitor all food items for compliance with guidelines for temperature, taste and quality, tastes food to determine quality. Taste food to determine quality and adjust as necessary.
- Maintain a sanitized and orderly kitchen environment; ensuring all equipment is cleaned, working properly, and turned off before closing.
- Assist in properly utilizing inventory to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.
Requirements:
- Minimum 6 months experience as a prep cook (preferred)
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents and colleagues.
- High School diploma or G.E.D.
- Ability to speak, read & write English.
- Must be willing to undergo a routine background check.
