Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: + Designs, plans, and builds communications networks. + Configures routers and switches, and firewalls for LAN and WAN systems and VPN concentrators with appropriate network engineering and communications protocols. + Coordinates LAN/WAN hardware/software improvements and/or enhancements. + Monitors the network utilizing industry leading technologies. + Provides innovative methods and technical solutions using the engineering design process. + Plans implementation of enhancements. + Analyzes customer requirements and provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. + Performs maintenance and upgrade of networks including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and networks. + Maintains network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies and maintains system backup and recovery capability. + Coordinates the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed. + Creates plans and configures systems for data communication networks. + Evaluates new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network. + Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned. + Designs and builds the hardware and software components for computer or telecommunications networks. + Provides guidance and leadership to less-experienced network personnel. **WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED - REQUIRED:** + **Clearance:** Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance + **Certifications** : + IAT Level II certification + ONE of the following Networking Certifications - Brocade, Cisco (CCNA/CCNP), Juniper (JNCIA/JNCIS/JNCIP), Aruba + ---- Willing to obtain an Aruba Certification within 90 days from start of employment (if candidate does not already hold this certification) + **Year's Experience:** 5+ years of experience in network administration + **Education:** Bachelors' Degree in a related field, OR work experience in lieu of degree. + **Technical Skills:** + Must have hands-on experience/knowledge with Aruba networking systems + Experience in routing protocols + **Location:** Willing to report full-time onsite at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA **DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:** + **Certification** : Aruba (ACSA and/or ACSP, depending on role) **GDIT IS YOUR PLACE:** At GDIT, the mission is our purpose, and our people are at the center of everything we do. ● Growth: AI-powered career tool that identifies career steps and learning opportunities ● Support: An internal mobility team focused on helping you achieve your career goals ● Rewards: Comprehensive benefits and wellness packages, 401K with company match, and competitive pay and paid time off ● Community: Award-winning culture of innovation and a military-friendly workplace **OWN YOUR OPPORTUNITY** Explore an enterprise IT career at GDIT and you'll find endless opportunities to grow alongside colleagues who share your desire to drive operations forward. \#ETMcareer \#GDITcareers \#OpportunityOwned \#WeAreGDIT \#transitioningmilitary \#clearedjobs \#veterans The likely salary range for this position is $110,500 - $149,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
