JOB SUMMARY

The PHARMACY TECHNICIAN works under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist and performs all nonprofessional (administrative) aspects in the department, accountable for clerical duties that do not require professional judgment or extensive technical training.

EDUCATION

Completion of pharmacy technician course; on the job training or other pharmacy technician educational program.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or GED required
• Current and valid Pharmacy Technician license in good standing and issued by the state in which duties are performed, required
• National certification by Pharmacy Technician Certification Board required
• Strong customer service skills, focus and dedication
• Basic computer and internet skills

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED

• Minimum of two (2) years of pharmacy technician experience preferred
• Familiarity with home infusion medications preferred
• Knowledge of CareTend Pharmacy Software Preferred
