Job Title: Registered Nurse – Correctional Facility
Location: Moravia, NY 13118
Shift: Mid 5x8-Hour (14:00 – 22:00)
Job Duration: 26 weeks
Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide direct nursing care within a correctional facility. The RN will coordinate patient care for incarcerated individuals, provide clinical supervision, and support training for Graduate Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and direct care staff. The ideal candidate is experienced, patient-focused, and comfortable working in a secure environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and provide direct nursing care to incarcerated individuals.
Conduct health assessments, develop and implement nursing care plans, and diagnose/treat patients’ responses to health problems.
Deliver nursing services including case-finding, health teaching, counseling, and supportive or restorative care.
Consult with interdisciplinary treatment teams regarding nursing care prior to administering treatments or procedures.
Serve as an active member of health care teams and health-related committees.
Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to Graduate Nurses, LPNs, and direct care staff.
Adhere to correctional facility protocols and safety standards.
Required Qualifications:
Active New York State RN license and registration.
Ability to complete and clear state-run Criminal History Form prior to start (clearance may take up to 4 weeks).
Strong communication, clinical, and assessment skills.
Experience in correctional or acute care nursing preferred.
Additional Information:
Position requires in-person interview.
Contract duration: 26–52 weeks.
Shifts may include overnight, day/overnight, day/evening, and evening rotations.
