About the Role: Residential Electrical Estimator Job Opportunity

As a Estimator at HomePro, you will play a key role in supporting our projects from idea to completion. You will be responsible for accurately estimating costs, materials, and labor required for residential electrical installations, as well as collaborating with builders, vendors, and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Responsibilities for Residential Electrical Estimator Position

  • Evaluate blueprints, project plans, and specifications to determine complete electrical requirements for residential builds.
  • Prepare detailed, itemized estimates for electrical installations, materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Consult with customers, builders, and other stakeholders to gather critical project information and clarify requirements.
  • Collaborate with purchasing and operations teams for accurate and up-to-date pricing on electrical components and materials.
  • Review and analyze completed projects to improve accuracy of future estimates and cost controls.
  • Support field teams and project managers with change orders, schedule adjustments, and scope clarifications as needed.
  • Maintain organized records of all bid documentation and correspondence.
  • Assist with the development of new estimating tools, templates, and best practices.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications for Residential Electrical Estimator Careers

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience in residential electrical estimating or similar role preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of residential electrical systems, codes (especially NEC), and installation methods.
  • Proficient in interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and construction documents.
  • Familiarity with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and math skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional organization and teamwork skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus.
