BAE Systems Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) business area has technology, engineering and program teams that educate and mentor colleagues to deliver leading Electronic Warfare capabilities. BAE Systems is looking for a new Systems Test Engineer for our Systems Engineering (SE) organization. The SE organizations mission is to reliably deliver customer-focused, affordable test solutions which are integrated across all levels of production test. Experience the entire life cycle of a program to include bid and proposal, advanced development and demonstration, test design and development, product fielding, procurement and sustainment. The selected candidate will be part of a Systems test engineering team throughout the product lifecycle. You will motivate and inspire the engineering team across geographical boundaries to achieve more than they believe is possible! This career opportunity is available for a System Engineer that is a highly motivated problem solver willing to work across multi-disciplinary teams to design, integrate, and test complex systems. The position requires a breadth of knowledge across multiple subject areas with the inclination toward continual learning.

The Senior Principal Systems Test Engineer should have a strong background in Electrical or Systems Engineering, and possess a demonstrated ability in designing, developing, and deploying complex systems using LabVIEW and TestStand test applications, Commercial Instrumentation for testing Military Comms, Navigation, and Electronic Warfare equipment. A strong emphasis on team cohesion, requirements generation, use of electronic measurement equipment , detailed test procedure generation and hardware troubleshooting skills are required. The candidate should posses strong People skills that support collaboration across multiple channels, a good listener, promotes solutions versus problems.

Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Architecting, designing, analyzing designs for analog, digital, RF and hybrid modules, board level, systems and subsystems using vendor supplied and custom measurement equipment
  • Evaluating the test performance to required specifications and you will be integrating and testing in the selected target test environments for future use by the production organization.
  • Evaluating and debugging advanced test solution designs to identify design flaws.
  • Developing instrument drivers, utilities, and executables used to support testing and verification activities for system development, production, and sustainment testing activities
  • Developing system level documentation for test requirements, test design, and operating procedures for acceptance test and environmental stress screening applications
  • Conducting DFM and DFT activities for deliverable product including Built-in-Test (BIT), Functional Performance testing (FPT) and Acceptance testing (ATP)
  • Test skills and knowledge of both Engineering and Operations
  • Ability to estimate cost & schedules and manage projects

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Experience in factory production test stands, problem isolation and resolution. Debug skills.
  • Experienced in using RF test instrumentation (Network Analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer, Signal Generators, etc.)
  • Experience in creating detailed requirements specifications for the development of engineering and production test solutions
  • Experience in project management and leading and mentoring small engineering teams

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $142205 - $241749

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
